Our team at ProShots is enthusiastic about firearms, and we want to assist more people in using them responsibly. Whether you are interested in learning to shoot purely for sport or you want to learn to use guns to defend your family, we encourage you to sign up for our firearms classes. In this article, we will go over some common mistakes we see people make when learning to use firearms.
- Rushing – One of the most common mistakes people make when learning to shoot is rushing. If you are too eager to fire your gun, then you sacrifice accuracy. Instead, we encourage beginners to cultivate patience when shooting, so you can shoot with more accuracy and control.
- Poor Stance – Another common mistake we see among beginners learning to shoot is poor stance or improper body alignment. When shooting a gun, it’s important to use a grounded stance in order to maximize control and to minimize the risk of injury due to kickback. Our instructors will show you how to stand when shooting so you can get the best control and accuracy.
- Weak or Improper Grip – A third type of mistake those learning to shoot often make has to do with their grip on the gun. Holding a firearm in a weak or improper grip puts you at risk of hand injuries due to kickback from the gun, so it’s important to learn to hold your firearm in the correct way. Our instructors will show you how to maintain a good grip on your gun, and we will offer reinforcement and adjustment when needed.
